• Break glass and other fragile surfaces. While it is a superb cleaning tool, a high pressure hose is also a destructive agent. It is not advisable to use on delicate surfaces as it can break glass and cause flimsy wood to crack. For your mild cleaning needs, stick to using a garden hose.
• Erase stains, graffiti markings and stubborn paint. Hot water alone may not do the job. However, when coupled with a graffiti removal solution or some paint thinner, the combined caustic quality of the solution and the pressure from the hose can create a miraculous cleansing transformation on vandalized walls. Make sure that you select the right high pressure hose to use– one that is resistant to oils, soaps and other possibly caustic formulas.
• Jet sewers. The power washer combines the functions of a plunger, a plumbing snake and boiling water when the washer jets the drain, eliminating grease and other blockages. For best results, a hot water pressure washer is recommended. Therefore, the hose must be able to withstand high temperatures, usually ranging between 250 and 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Power wash surface and wall build-ups. Whitewashing walls, removing caked mud then wiping them clean are taxing activities you might not afford to do in between your busy schedule. Luckily, the high pressure hose lets you take care of your walls in record time, without requiring too much effort on your part. A garden hose can do these too but it is neither that efficient nor effective.
• Scale the wall without a ladder. The hose itself may be long but is not stiff enough to reach the roof of your two-storey home unaided. Still, a ladder-less wall scaling session is very much possible with a pressure washer. Simply attach one end of the hose to a telescoping wand, then insert the gutter cleaner inside the wand. The resulting height should be more than enough to allow the equipment to reach the roof, spray away, sweep any leaves and debris, and unclog the plugged gutters.
