The pressure washer also sports more power than an ordinary gardening hose so that although less water is used, the cleaning intensity is not reduced and compromised. The advantage is obvious: The greater the pressure, the lesser the water consumption, the smaller your water utility bill.
Important: Fuel your pressure washer with hot water only. Cold water makes leaves and debris cling to each other so that they are harder to dislodge from the gutter.
2. Pressure Washer Extensions
Extension wands make excellent tools for cleaning gutters too. Without using any pressure washer extensions, you will have to undertake the cumbersome measure of lifting the pressure washer from the ground and onto the roof – a tragedy that is waiting to unfold. Brace yourself to do some attaching work on the following extension tools for cleaning gutters:
- Hose. The hose comes with your purchase of any pressure washer. It is long enough to allow you to do far-reaching and in-depth cleaning. One end is attached to the washer while another end is capped with a nozzle to control the intensity of the water flow. A reel keeps the hose disentangled and organized during storage.
- Telescoping Wand. A telescoping wand eliminates your need to climb a ladder just to reach the roof. Ideal for cleaning the gutters of two-storey buildings, the wand is usually made of aluminum or fiber glass that can loom as high as 24 feet. Attached to one end of the hose, the telescoping wand allows affords your hand a firm and solid grip on the wand’s body.
- Gutter Cleaner. The final step is to attach the gutter cleaner to the telescoping wand. The gutter cleaner is no complicated gadget. In fact, it is simply a C-shaped or U-shaped rotating wand that serves as the ultimate exhaust point of your combo of gutter cleaning equipment, spraying and blasting away water or cleaning solution until your gutter is cleared of leaves, well-kempt and spotless.
Cleaning gutters can be a rewarding activity. If you have the right attitude and the basic tools for cleaning gutters, then consider yourself all set for your first do-it-yourself home improvement project.
