The difference is hover lawn mowers do not use wheels, they have a turbine that is positioned above the cutting blade. The turbine forces air down and creates an air cushion that will lift the lawn mower above the grounds surface like a hovercraft. If you have steep inclines, a hover lawn mower will be the easiest to handle. The lawn mowers are light weight and extremely easy to maneuver. The major advantage to the hover lawn mowers is that they can tackle tall grass with ease, you can easily raise the lawn mower above the area and gradually lower it until the desired cut length is achieved. Many strongly believe that these are the best lawn mowers but of course there are the ones who do not feel they leave a clean cut as the cylinder mowers do and there is no grass or mulch bags, so you may be raking up the grass from your lawn.
